Summer School 2010

Summer School 2010 was held around North Belfast, in the University of Ulster. The theme was ‘talkoot’, a Finnish word that means coming together to collaborate on a common task. The study area has many current projects, most of them using public money, there is a need to bring these projects into a common plan for mutual benefit, and moreover to avoid the mistakes of past bad planning.

The results of the school culminated in the ‘six links’ concept, six streets which should be reclaimed and rebuilt as coherent people friendly connectors in the city. The work was published in January 2011 and was exhibited as part of the Inter–change exhibition in the GT gallery in May 2011.
